JOB DESCRIPTION: GEAR UP College and Career Navigator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four year degree in a related field.
- Ability to relate well to people.
- Possess strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.
- Be willing to work flexible hours.
- Excellent written, verbal and computer skills required.
- Knowledgeable of local and state programs and services available.
Believes that all students can be college and career ready.

REPORTS To:

Superintendent and/or Superintendent's designee, Gear-up Staff and Program Manager of IHE.
|

JOB GOALS:
|
To provide direct services to GEAR UP students including college preparation skills, career readiness skills, parent engagement, student leadership, STEM and summer opportunities; and to support the Mission Statement of the Estill County School System.
|
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works in collaboration with teachers, adrninistrators and parents to meet the needs of all students.
- Works with first generation, low-income youth.
- Works with college access programs.
- Tutors students in acadelñic content.
- Works with GEAR UP students, individually and collectively to develop a plan for success and provides academic intervention.
- Submits weekly activity and program reports to the GEAR UP Program Director.
- Maintains confidentiality of students and/or staff.
- Follows Guidelines and procedures as mandated by Gear-up Grant. (See Attached)
- Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Days and salary pursuant to district salary schedules.
